Mining
Even mining is not crafting skill, several skills depend on it. You can
get material for blacksmithing, tinkering, stonecrafting, glassblowing,
tinkering and for some items from tailoring too.
Check also guide for Mining.
What do you need for this skill?
Not much - shovel or pickaxe. Both of them you can buy from tinker
vendors or make them yourself (tinkering 40+ is recommended). If you use
shovels, you can stack them in Tools chest. (Note: you may use public
Tool chest in tinker shop north of Britain bank.)
Digging
Once you have some digging tool, put it into your backpack and go to the
mine. Doubleclick on your digging tool and target spot on the ground
next to you. If you success, ore will appear in your backpack.
Which ore you can dig?
This depends on your mining skill. Here is the list of available ores on

* With mining skill 100% you can mine
these ores
but there is very little chance for mining them. |
I have some ore. What's next step?
In order to get ingots from ore you have to smelt dug ore. You will
need forge for this - you can find it in most of mines. Stand right next
to a forge,
doubleclick on ore and target forge. You will get 2 ingots
from each piece of ore in case of success. If you fail, half amount of ore will
be burnt.
Don't forget: even with smelting ore your mining skill raises up.
Splitting ore is maybe tedious, but it may force raising your mining
skill.
Can I dig dig something other then ore?
When you will be GM miner, you can buy and read two books:
Mining for quality stone and Find Glass-quality sand. Now
you will be able to dig ore and also stones (for Masonry), sand (for Glassblowing)
and rare gems for crafting some items.
