Tis the season. Many Christmas items have been added for the season. Many of these items will go away after Christmas is over. The snowmen will melt as will the snow flakes and piles of snow. The wreaths will wither away. And so will the mistletoe. The gingerbread cookies and candy canes will rot. And the stockings will be put away until next year. The Christmas trees will all dry up.
The items that will not go away will be the dated items like the Hand Dipped Candles, the Christmas Bells, Decorative Topiary, Snowy Tree, and Festive Cactus. Also the poinsettias will not go away.

It is the season to eat too many goodies.
You can bake up a batch of Ginger Bread Cookies. These cookies show the name of the person that baked them. A nice gesture to bake a cookie for your shard mates. These cookies also taste good.
To bake these cookies, you need flour, water and ginger. You need your cooking utensils of course and be next to an oven. (I can smell them now)
Ginger on Paradise is a wild root that pops up in many places. I have seen some in Britian, Yew, Moonglow, Jhelom and in the woods both west and east of Vesper.
Ginger Bread Cookie are seasonal and will rot away in time. So to get the most enjoyment from these goodies, EAT them by at least middle January.

As a note. The art for these items was added to the client after version 5.0.7 so if your client is older, you will not be able to see these cookies. It is recommended that you have 5.0.9.1 client for Paradise found. No lower and no higher. 5.0.9.1
There are two nice decorations for Christmas season: Santa and his sleigh. You can see them at new addon showcase (near Players vendor mall). To rent them for holiday season send PM to staff member.

2 new breeds of spiders, the Virulent Dread Spider and the Spider Defender have appeared in Purgatory few days ago.
It is rumored that 1 of these rare breed of spider has a rare chance to yield a decorative Spider web but beware, the chalenge to get those rare items might be more then you can handle.

our world - Magic lamp. You can find it some creatures like a loot. When you drop this lamp on the
ground and double click it, a Genie of the Lamp pops up. Like some quests,
you click it and the menu shows Talk. Talk bring up gump explains
stuff.

And we know winner of "Return of the Brownies" event. In the end 16 plaers gave elixers for contest. There are too much big differences so it looks some players hunted Brownies only for participating and they expect some prize for that. So you don't you like the ugly spotted colors? There is a solution for this problem. You can download our new Hues.mul, where the ugly colors have been replaced with new pretty colors. This is NOT required - you can decide if you want to see the new colors. If you don't download this new file, there is no problem - you will still see the old spotted colors.
What you need to do if you want to see these new colors?
- Backup your original file Hues.mul (Hit F3 in Windows desktop to find file Hues.mul. Right click on this file, from menu select Rename and rename original file. For example Hues_old.mul)
- Download this new Hues.mul and put it to UO folder.

A few changes were made past few days. They are:
- the Tailor cabinet can hold new leathers from now on
- a GemPouch has been made. It is like the potion case. It can be carried in backpack and you can drop all gems on it including MagicJewel. It weights 10 stones. Presently it is loot on Paroxymus and Shimmering Infussion and also Artie Loot on Terragons (this can be changed later).
- There are now 2 Grab commands. [Grab is the same as before.
[Graball or [GA takes all stackable items from the corpse.
So if all you want is Gold and Gems, use Grab. If you take all stuff like reagents and scrolls and scales and hides and gold and gems, use Graball. Now looting a lich will be so much easier. You can use this extended command to grab all stackable items from SOS chests and treasure chests. But be warned! Treasure chest can spawn some criters as usual. It is no problem at chech lvl 1, but at higher levels... Consider using this command wisely, or you can be easily overwhelmed by many creatures.

Ore Smelting Change
Prior to now, there was no known reason to eat on Paradise Found unless you just like to eat. Now there is a bonus to smelting ore if you are fully satiated. This does not allow you to smelt ore that you are not skilled enough to smelt but it makes the amount of successful smelting operations higher by as much as 35%. All this depends on your mining skill and the ore you are using.
Here is an example of a test:
- Mining skill 100, Valorite ore, Smelting small piles each try, very hungry
- I recieved 72 ingots from 50 ore. Botnick got 68 ingots from 50 ore.
- The same situation but fully satiated, we both got 100 ingots from 50 ore.
I ran other test on the test server with results from 35% to 25% better. I hope you enjoy your eating in Paradise now.

Result of Guild Tournament:
We decided end this tournament from two reasons:
- guild -X- has 5 point from 9 available so no other guild can beat them
- about 2 weeks there werent at the same time two opponents for next event
So winner of this tournament is guild -X- . CONGRATULATIONS!

Paradise Found has declared a contest for "New Paradise Found banner".
Look at our website, for the old banner may be a help for you. Rules of this contest is qiute simple: you have to design two versions of banners:
- One 700 x 120 for for PF website and PF forum.
- A smaller one for the shard voting site just in case we do make the top 10. The smaller size needs to be 468 x 60.
The looks of banner may be what you would like, but it should be brighter than our current banner and it should reflect life on paradise - propably feature, that you pesonally like the most. You can post your works to PF Forum where was made this thread for them.

Two new commands have been added:
- <MedicName> time - it shows hire time remaining. Example: Archie time
- <EvoDragonName> stats - it will display similar gump like for mercenary. Example: Killer stats

| It appears that OSI issued a patch with 4 digits. RunUO can only deal with 3. No way to know if OSI is trying to screw up the free shards or just a bone head move. I will be checking the RunUO forum very often for a fix. I am sure the brains there will figure it out very soon. But untill then, DO NOT PATCH. |
If you already patched yourclient, you need replace these files with their old versions: anim.mul, artidx.mul, blueprints.tbp, client.exe, cliloc.enu, cliloc.jpn, tiledata.mul and uotd.exe. If you have no chance to get them you can download them in this archive (download, unpack and replace files in UO directory).

A few others things they were either added or changed in our world but not many players know about them:
- Player commands - [Secure, [Lockdown, [Release (they have the same effect like longer command for securing, locking and releasing things in your house)
- Item Identification now has value. Recently it was discovered that some looted items have some of the old Pre AOS properties set. And that the sell price for these weapons and armor are higher with these properties. Presently, these items are found in Dungeon spawned treasure chests and boxes, in T-maps chests, SOS chests and in critter loot. So now using Item Identification can be worthwhile. Looting and using ItemID on weapons and armor could be very lucrative.
